If someone says chicken, we immediately think of KFC. But this tasty meat came from a bird, that is now only raised for meat and egg. Usually we think of live chicken, we mostly know of white farm chicken But there are many types chicken around the word, and some of they so pretty that you want to keep them as pet.

#1 Silkie Chicken – A very cute fluffy ball with black skin and meat

If not the most beautiful, but certainly the cutest chicken in Silkie or Silky chicken (also known Chinese silk chicken). The feather feels like silk or satin, very smooth to touch. It is a small chicken, weighs from 0.5kg to 1.5 kg. The chicken looks like a small fluffy fur ball because of very unique fluffy looking feathers. Silkie chicken has a few other unique features too; it has blue earlobes, five toes on each foot (most chicken has four). The most unique feature in it has black or bluish skin and bones and grayish-black meat. Silkie is a common exhibit in poultry shows.

#2 Polish Chicken – A Rockstar Chicken

A very common exhibit of poultry shows is Polish Chicken because of it’s beautiful crest of feathers. It’s rockstar in a chicken world.

#3 Brahma Chicken

A very large and beautiful chicken breed. It is the second largest breed of chicken but the largest single chicken ever recorded is a ginat 3 ft. tall brhma chicken named Merakli (source). The chicken is easily recognigeable fo its size and feathers on shanks and toes.

#4 Ayam Cemani

Ayam cemani is a rare breed of chicken that is all black, from inside and outside. As mention in National Geographic, “

The Ayam cemani chicken may be the most deeply pigmented creature on earth. Not only are the bird’s feathers, beak, comb, tongue, and toes a striking, blue-ish black, but so are its bones.

Even the chicken’s meat looks like it has been marinated in squid ink.”
