The Glass Beach of the Ussuri Bay is a unique and beautiful destination for beach lovers. Located in Russia’s Far East, the Ussuri Bay is known for its clear waters and stunning natural beauty. However, it’s the Glass Beach that truly sets the area apart.
The Beach gets its name from the thousands of pieces of colorful glass that can be found along its shore. This glass is a remnant of the area’s industrial past, when the nearby factories would dump their waste into the bay. Over time, the waves and tide have worn down the glass, creating smooth and colorful pebbles.

Visitors to the Glass Beach can spend hours combing the shoreline, searching for the perfect piece of glass to take home as a souvenir. The most common colors of glass found on the beach are green, blue and brown.
It is a perfect place for beachcombing, hiking, and fishing as well as for swimming, sunbathing and other beach activities. There are several hiking trails in the area that offer fantastic views of the bay and the surrounding mountains. The beach also has several picnic areas and restrooms.

While the Glass Beach is a unique and beautiful destination, it’s important to remember that it is also an ecological reserve. Visitors are asked to take only small amounts of glass and to leave the area as they found it. This will help ensure that future generations can enjoy the Glass Beach for years to come.
In conclusion, The Glass Beach of the Ussuri Bay is a unique, beautiful, and must-see destination for beach lovers and nature enthusiasts. With its clear waters, stunning natural beauty, and thousands of pieces of colorful glass, it’s a perfect place to relax, explore, and make memories.

This haunting photo is of Omayra Sánchez, a 13 years old girl from Columbia. She was stuck in beneath the debris of her house in Columbia, aftermath of a devastating ‘lahar’ (violent type of mudflows, landslides, and debris flows induced by volcanic activity) in November, 1986. Omayra was trapped for almost 3 days and after struggling for more than 60 hours she died. People tried to help her but failed. One you see the photo, it’ll remain in your memory for long.
